I love black and white photography, I always had; I find it to be a really powerful tool to express the emotions that a landscape created in me. Stripping down an image to its raw graphic power, the power of lines, shapes and masses, is both inspiring and liberating for me. When the weather conditions are right and the landscape allows, I just pre-visualise my images thinking in black and white: I compose for it, use the light for it, organize my filters for it. Then, I develop for it, a most fundamental part of the digital process to make a strong black and white image; and, one that takes years of experience.
